The bureau chief:
Adrianne Flynn is the Washington bureau director for the college's Capital News Service. Formerly a Washington correspondent for the Arizona Republic, where she covered U.S. Sen. John McCain, she also worked as a reporter for The Washington Times, where she covered Mayor Marion Barry's return, and for The Dayton (Ohio) Daily News, where she covered serial murderer Jeffrey Dahmer and the 11-day Lucasville, Ohio, prison riot. She started her career at the Mesa Tribune in Arizona.c
The graduate students:
Tina Irgang, 24, is a graduate student at Maryland covering immigration and the 2010 census. She has an undergraduate degree in American studies and history from the University of Tuebingen in Germany. She interned with USA Today and freelanced for the Prince George's Sentinel, Greenbelt News Review and Hyattsville Life & Times. She can be reached at census-dc@jmail.umd.edu.
David M. Johnson, 25, is a graduate student covering business and economics for CNS. In 2006, he graduated from Salisbury University with a history degree. Sharmina Manandhar, 25, is a graduate student covering health and medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in communication arts from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Aleksandra Robinson, 23, is a graduate student who will cover the Chesapeake Bay. In 2008, she earned two bachelor's degrees, French and writing, from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. She was the first -- and last -- Baltimore Examiner graduate opinion fellow. She also worked as the first copy-editing intern for Gannett's weekend magazine, USA WEEKEND.
