About 550 local artists submitted concept ideas; in the end, 180 designs would make the cut.

The artists were able to translate their visions to fiberglass after a corporation sponsored each at a cost of $3,750.  

What's next? 

"Many cities have just done one thing," says Pugh. "I think we will move towards doing something on a more consistent basis, maybe every two years."

 


'Strike a Pose' -- a  weather fish -- was suspended on Television Hill in front of Baltimore's WJZ-TV. Reporter Brenda Carl says seeing this fish every morning let her know that it would "always be a sunshiney day at Channel 13."
