Every
Monday morning, two
zoo staff members drive out to Fort Washington to pick up a week's supply of
bamboo for the pandas. The amount they cut down varies; according to
zookeeper Milton Tierney, 52, above, they generally haul anywhere from 100
to 200 stalks per trip.
