COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Every two years the Department of Energy hosts a Solar Decathlon, rewarding college teams that build attractive, energy-efficient, cost-efficient homes.
The University of Maryland team is already gearing up for 2011, with a project it has dubbed the WaterShed.
Inspired by the complex ecosystem of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the 800-square-foot house will have a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room and kitchen and a green roof.
