The Tiffany skylight was constructed in 1903 by the Tiffany Glass & Decorating Co. for the
old State building in Annapolis. It was moved to the Joint Hearing Room of the Legislative Services building in 1976. It
stayed there until May 2000, when it was removed for cleaning and reinstallation in the
new Senate building.
The dome, 20 feet in diameter, is protected from weather by a glass skylight. Located
four floors above the main lobby, the skylight allows natural sunlight to filter in.
In the fourth floor main lobby area, the reflection of the skylight on the polished marble floors is nearly as eye-catching as the real thing (bottom left).
