Controller

In each of the four committee rooms in the Miller building, each senator has his or her own microphone, which the committee chairman can turn on when recognizing a senator to speak. The picture above shows the chairman's control screen. Each brown section represents a different senator's desk, and the two at the top represent the stands where people testify. When a senator wants to add something, the chair can turn on his or her mike. Then the red "Mic Off" dot will go off, and "Mic On" will light up, so that the chair always knows which microphones are on.
