Your Words:
Marylanders on the Midterm Elections

Larry Rufai | Newsline photo by Melissa Pachikara

Larry Rufai, who gives his age as “50-plus,” says he’s indifferent to the midterm elections.

“There is no big difference in the two parties anyway,” said the Lanham, Md., concierge, questioned at the Silver Spring apartment where he works.

Rufai has no party affiliation and says he won’t be voting in this election because he is not registered. But he acknowledged the importance of voting.

He says what matters to him is how education will be improved and how poverty will be addressed in the state.

“They should find a way to provide accommodation to the poor and be able to make available to most of the people affordable housing,” Rufai said.
