SPARROWS POINT - While there were a number of deserted census tracts in Maryland for the 2000 census, the two homeless people living in the shadow of the Bethlehem Steel plant made Census Tract 4522 the smallest occupied tract in the state. From Bear Creek and the B&O Railroad, Tract 4522 is bounded by the B&O Railroad on the north, North Point Boulevard and Sparrows Point Road on the east, and the Patapsco River to the south and west.
