  Death on Hold

the execution table in Baltimore/ Photo by Kim Harris

At the appointed time, the inmate will change from the orange suit into a beige one--indicating he is a step closer to dying.

He will then be walked into the adjacent execution area. Behind the white curtain, six print, TV and radio journalists and six nonmedia people wait to serve as witnesses. The public witnesses placed a written request with the commissioner of corrections.
