Gang violence, truant children and homicides in Prince George’s County were among the many concerns voiced by about 50 residents and community leaders at a public safety listening session Wednesday.

The session was the first of three sponsored by Rushern L. Baker III, the Democratic nominee for county executive in Prince George’s County. While Baker did not directly address the concerns at the meeting, he reiterated that he was there to listen and the issues will be reviewed.

Other sessions to be held this month will focus on education and job creation.
